New Koala Sighting

My brother and sister discovered this cute little guy napping in a tree across the street from the house. I was sure he was going to fall out of the tree. The folks in the neighborhood have named him Emmet.

The Botanical Gardens

Today we visited the Botanical Gardens a few minutes from Mike & Padma's house. It is fall here and the colors are beautiful!

Easter Sunday

We spent Easter Sunday taking a trip to the beach and touring the countryside. What a beautiful day...especially after hearing it was only 20 degrees back home. The beaches are beautiful here, and the Aussie's take a lot of pride in their land and everything is incredible clean and well maintained. Surprisingly, the beaches were pretty quiet today, but it is fall here, and summer is coming to an end. It sure didn't seem like fall to me!

Our next venture was to spot our first Kangaroo. We are told they are everywhere, but we have yet to see one. They are very similar to deer in Wisconsin, they come out in the late afternoon, just before the sun sets. The countryside is so beautiful near the ocean, with lots of hills and beautiful trees.

G'day Mates!

26 hours later, we safely arrived in Adelaide, Australia...half way around the world.
Adelaide is a beautiful city on the South Ocean and my brother Mike lives in the foothills overlooking Adelaide, with a view of the ocean from his veranda.


Not even 5 minutes after our arrival we were quickly called to garden to see a Koala Bear and her baby napping in a tree in the back yard.......unbelieveable!

In 4 days I will be heading to Australia for a 3.5 week adventure with my mom, sister, brother and family.
We will be staying with my brother Mike and his wife Padma and son Joe in Crafers, SA.
I hope to post lots of photos and stories about my trip.....

Today I am packing......how do you pack for a 3 week trip???? I discovered Space Bags....wow, I can almost fit my entire closet in my suitcase with 2 of those bags.
